The Wedding of Matt & Sam was a splendid occasion. It was one of those days where everything went right and everybody seemed to have such a good time. There were lots of tears (of joy!) and many smiles from the few but important people who attended this little ceremony.

These two handsome people from Belfast, which is one of my favourite places in the world, got married today in a Catholic ceremony in St Markos Church here on our wee island of Zakynthos. We had a good laugh doing the preliminary “Mafia” poses while we were waiting for Sinead to arrive. When she came, she nearly took our breath away, because she was so beautiful.
The wedding itself was conducted in Greek by the Italian priest, with Frances from Tsilivi Travel translating into English all the important parts. Very multilingual today!
Afterwards, we went to the Alexandra Beach Hotel in Tsilivi for the reception and some fantastic arty photographic poses.

I hope we will be photographing a wedding in Belfast very soon, because I just can’t wait to go back… It’s been five years… too long!!!

Lee and Claire… Cameo… 3 June 2009… A little bit of rain…
Claire is really anxious and keeps asking: “Do you think it’ll rain?” When we reply that we don’t think so, she makes us promise!!! It did ever so slightly sprinkle down on them during the ceremony, but here in Greece we consider it very good luck if it rains on your wedding day.
But the best part was afterwards as we were leaving Cameo to go the Balcony Restaurant for the reception. A DOUBLE rainbow had come out and now Claire was convinced that it was her dad from above smiling down on them.
These two gave me goosebumps. When I saw them dancing together and as I was capturing these moments, again I realised how lucky I am to be a wedding photographer. It must be the coolest job in the world.

Ο Λη και η Κλαιρ… Καμέο… 3 Ιουνίου 2009… Πέφτει ψιλόβροχο…
Η Κλαιρ έχει μεγάλη αγωνία και συνέχεια μας ρωτάει: “Θα βρέξει;;” Όταν της απαντάμε πως δεν νομίζουμε, μας βάζει να ορκιστούμε!! Τελικά ψυχάλισε ελάχιστα κατά την τελετή του γάμου τους, αλλά ευτυχώς στην Ελλάδα το θεωρούμε γούρι…
Το πιό ωραίο ήταν μετά, καθώς φεύγαμε για να πάμε στο εστιατόριο Balkony που είχε βγει ΔΙΠΛΟ ουράνιο τόξο!! Η Κλαιρ πιστεύει πως ήταν ο πατέρας της που τους χαμογελούσε από ψιλά…
Αυτά τα δυο παιδιά πραγματικά σήμερα με ανατριχιάσανε. Καθώς τράβαγα τις φωτογραφίες από τον πρώτο τους χορό, ξανα συνειδητοποίησα πόσο τυχερός είμαι που είμαι φωτογράφος γάμου- μάλλον είναι το πιο φοβερό επάγγελμα στον κόσμο…
Να ζήσετε, είστε αξιολάτρευτοι…

Today we went to the Catholic Church of St Markos here in St Markos Sq, Zakynthos (Zante) to photograph the wedding of David & Susannah from Ireland.
Lots of smiles and a church full of people. The priest, Fr Mark is a very nice and serene person who makes every wedding a spiritual experience even for us non Catholics.

Σήμερα πήγαμε στην Καθολική Εκκλησία του Αγ. Μάρκου εδώ στην Πλατεία Αγ. Μάρκου στην Ζάκυνθο για να φωτογραφίσουμε τον γάμο του Ντεϊβιντ και της Σουζάνα από την Ιρλανδία.
Πολλά χαμόγελα και μια γεμάτη εκκλησία. Ο παπάς, Μάρκος, είναι πολύ καλός και μεταδοτικός άνθρωπος και κάθε γάμος στον οποίον πρωτοστατεί είναι μια συγκλονιστική εμπειρία.
