Lily’s Christening Photos! 25-10-2008 | Φωτογραφίες της Βάπτισης της Λιλιάνας

We love posting christening (baptism) pictures, especially from people that we like!
Janelle and Spiros christened their second child, Lily yesterday at a nice ceremony at Ag. Lazaros in Zakynthos Town. It’s two years already from their wedding and wee Dimitris’s christening!
While Lily’s Storybook is being created, I selected some of the unique moments and created a photo collage.

Τί πιό ωραίο από το να ανεβάζεις φωτογραφίες βάπτισης από ανθρώπους που συμπαθείς ιδιαίτερα!
Η Τζανέλ και ο Σπύρος βαπτίσανε χτες το δεύτερο μωράκι τους, την Λιλιάνα ή Lily, σε μια ώραια τελετή στον Αγ. Λάζαρο Ζακύνθου. Περάσανε ήδη δύο χρόνια από τον γάμο τους και την βάπτιση του Δημητράκη!
Όσο ετοιμάζεται το Storybook (ψηφιακό άλμπουμ), διάλεξα μερικές από τις μοναδικές στιγμές της βάπτισης και έφτιαξα ένα φωτογραφικό κολλάζ.

Mitche Graf: marketing inspiration

Like all wedding photographers and photography studios, we often have to sit back and reflect upon our businesses and lives to reevaluate things. One of our sources of inspiration is a gentleman from Idaho called Mitche Graf. He is also a member of our favourite online community, the DWF.
Mitche has been a  wedding photographer for many years, and is also one of the best-known marketing and sales experts in our community. He does many seminars and constantly challenges us to rethink our sales and marketing efforts. 
When a small enterprise has a solid sales and marketing strategy, it doesn’t only benefit its own revenue stream. The customer can also receive great comfort and benefits when interacting with a business that has a well thought-out marketing and sales strategy. S/he knows that in keeping with good business practice, the customer always comes first and is likely to receive first-class service.
I have recently ordered an interactive tutorial (“Boot Camp in a Box!”) from his website and look forward to receiving it and being inspired!
We will soon finetune our marketing and sales efforts even further, so stay online for more Story Studios news. 
I am sure Mitche’s ideas will help us to promote our Wedding Photography Studio as one of the best not only in Zante, but in the whole of Greece.

best iPhone programmes so far

At the end of August, the iPhone was finally unveiled in Greece!

We got our iPhones immediately, and we are very happy with them. 
Apps to impress your friends with that I have used are PocketGuitar and Shazam

One of the better applications is AirSharing, but it has a few bugs.
It allows you to use the iPhone as a wireless hard drive and also views the files that you have put on there.
Unfortunately large files are still a no-no, and it keeps crashing everytime I’m reading .pdf versions of my favourite comic books (Donald Duck!!!!!)
I saw a very interesting app this morning in the App Store, called Spreadsheet- like a mini Excel on your mobile!! It seems to have some good reviews. Another great app is fring, with which you can actually use Skype Out from your mobile! A similar app, that also works well, is Truphone.

Unfortunately, syncing with MobileMe between our iPhones and our Macs hasn’t worked great so far. There have been some glitches and some events and calendars in iCal keep doubling and quadrupling?

The best game I have played on it so far is Enigmo. It really sucks you in and gets your braincells working. 
Also very good games are Crash Kart Bandicoot, Asphalt 4, Trism, Aurora Feint, Spore and Labyrinth.

All in all it’s been a very rewarding experience and we’re looking forward to more apps and surprises. I never want my old mobile back!

September’s album of the month | Το καλύτερο άλμπουμ του Σεπτεμβρίου

METALLICA: DEATH MAGNETIC (2008)

A true return to form for Metallica! I had been disappointed with the band three previous albums Load/ Reload and St Anger. Death Magnetic brings them back to their peak days of the 1980s and reminds me of my favourite Metallica album …And Justice For All (1988). 
A lot of depth in their sound, the fantastic dual guitar riffs that Metallica became so famous for, great drumming by Lars Ulrich, and good solid Metallica solos by Kirk Hammett
Headbanging time!!!!! 

Επιτέλους, οι Metallica γυρίσανε! Είχα απογοητευτεί με τα τρια προηγούμενα τους άλμπουμ Load/ Reload και St Anger. Το Death Magnetic μας ξαναγυρίζει σε γνώριμα Metallica μέρη θυμίζοντας το αγαπημένο μου άλμπουμ …And Justice For All (1988). 
Με μεγάλο βάθος στον ήχο τους, τα φανταστικά διπλά κιθαρικά riffs, πολύ κάλά ντραμς από τον Lars Ulrich και τα γνώριμα σολαρίσματα του Kirk Hammett μας γυρίζουνε στην εφηβική μας ηλικία, τότε που οι Metallica ήταν το καλύτερο metal συγκρότημα του κόσμου.
Η μουσική παίζει στο τέρμα…!
